Ben South

BSc(Hons) BVetMed PGCertVPS CertAVP (Poultry) MRCVS

After qualifying from Royal Veterinary College, Ben began his career in mixed practice, concentrating on large animals and game birds. Joining St David’s Poultry Team allowed Ben to focus on the wider poultry sector including layers, broilers, as well as game birds.

Ben is focussed on proactive and preventative livestock management. Fundamental to this is having good general husbandry in place – including food and water. He has seen first-hand much greater interest and investment in water quality treatment programmes across the poultry industry, working with producers to develop and implement solutions that improve water hygiene and provide measurable return on investment.

Phil Elkins

BVM&S CertAVP (Cattle) MRCVS

After graduating from Edinburgh, Phil spent the early part of his career in mixed practice and then farm practice in the UK and New Zealand before focusing on clinical practice in Cornwall.

His main interest is in dairy production gaining his Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2015, and providing independent dairy consultancy services focusing on optimising health, welfare and production efficiency through a holistic approach to farm systems. Phil joined FarmWater in 2025 to help provide water hygiene services to our cattle and pig clients.

Sophie Bryars

With a decade of working and managing numerous brands and companies in a broad range of industries – including commercial poultry veterinary and agri-tech – Sophie manages the direction and operations for FarmWater.

Archie Oram

Field Services Technician

After studying Game and Wildlife Management at Sparsholt College, Archie moved into game keeping before returning to the family farm to run the cattle and poultry business, before managing a conservation grazing heard in the Epping Forest. Archie believes that getting the ‘basics’ right in all areas of animal agriculture is fundamental. This includes starting with a clean and hospitable environment with the right diet and clean water.

Sam Hamer

Field Engineer

Sam is an experienced water treatment technician and engineer, having worked with chlorine dioxide and dosing pump systems for many years. Sam manages FarmWater installations, delivers client training and provides ongoing support and maintenance that is part of our managed service.

Julia Samuel

Marketing Manager

Marketing Manager for FarmWater, developing and managing the strategy and its implementation. Experience in various industries including veterinary, finance and IT.
